Selecting the location was difficult because Atlanta has so many wonderful choices. We knew we wanted something in the city and we wanted to incorporate the city into our wedding somehow. We visited some places in Marrietta, Buckhead and Midtown. Among them was Park Tavern which overlooked Piedmont Park. We immediately fell in love with the Garden Tent.

Since I can be such an indecisive person I was having a hard time picking a place and locking down a date. Dave was pretty much leaving the decision up to me but he emphasized that he really liked the Garden Tent at Park Tavern.

It wasn’t until I was at Park Tavern for the 4th of July Peachtree Road Race that I realized Park Tavern was the place that I was going to have my wedding reception. After a few rounds of mimosas I really started looking around at the place. I asked each of my friends their opinions and I came to the conclusion that this was it. The tent was beautiful even when it wasn’t decorated for a wedding.

I immediately called Dave who was in California visiting his family. I told him I had definitely decided on Park Tavern and he couldn’t have been happier. He told his family and they were just glad that I had actually made a decision on something! Now, let the wedding planning begin.

We have been working with Lauren Stephan and she has been wonderful. Park Tavern is such a popular place to get married that it was already booked for all of June the following year. Dave and I decided July would be just as well and thought that the 19th seemed like the perfect day. We have a lot to look forward to with food tastings, picking out decorations, flowers etc. We have spent a lot of time in Piedmont Park and Park Tavern over the years with friends and thought that Park Tavern was a great representation of Atlanta with the beautiful skyline. I don’t think there is a better way to impress all of our out of town guests!
